Anna "Anya" Boutwell, MSN, ANP, FNP-C

Anna “Anya” Boutwell is a Nurse Practitioner who joined PIM in 2010. Along with her nursing perspective on healthcare and years of experience working as Registered Nurse, Anya brings a unique emphasis on promoting health in PIM patients. Her practice focuses on health education, disease prevention and lifestyle counseling. Anya also desires to help patients with chronic illness achieve the best possible quality of life despite their individual health challenges. Her special interest is a “whole person” approach to treating patients with Type I and Type II diabetes.

Her professional credentials include a Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in Nursing Science from the University of Alaska. She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Anya is a member of the Alaska Nurse Practitioner Association and Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honour Society. She speaks on health-related topics to community groups, students and health professionals.

While she truly enjoys her work as a Nurse Practitioner, her delight and devotion are to her family: husband and son, who share her love for Alaska’s many outdoor activities. Don’t be surprised, if you see Anya and her son riding their bikes through puddles in the rain (or in the tide pools), skiing to the mail box, or competing in triathlons “just for fun”. She and her husband also enjoy the challenges of hobby farming in Alaska’s cold climate. She is active in her local church where she works with teens. When time permits, she attempts photography, knitting, sewing, pottery and other forms of artistic expression.
